Cyber Crime Cell is functioning at CID, Hqr. with an objective to investigate complicated Cyber Crime cases, which are not able to Investigate properly by the district police due to lack of technical expert at district level.
The offence being investigated are :-
(1) Social Media Fraud,
(2) Financial Fraud,
(3) Hacking of Email ID/ Facebook ID/ Bank Accounts,
(4) Creation of fraud account,
(5) Publishing obscene materials in Facebook.
1. Write a complaint explaining the whole issue.
2. Lodge a FIR in nearest police station.
3. Submit the Screen Shot along with the complaint.
A. Take the Screen shot of the page where information or photographs are posted.
B. To take the screen shot, press Print Screen button of keyboard then paste in paint or word file by pressing (Ctrl + V)
C. Save as in JPG or PNG format and take the print out of the page.
D. Save the URL of the facebook page and take the print out.
E. Always open facebook in browser, so that the URL is printed.
Cyber Forensic Training Lab.was setup in CID HQRS, Assam, Guwahati to impart Cyber Forensic Training with the facilities of all sophisticated cyber forensic tools in the last part of the year 2010. The lab. has one FRED (Forensic Recovery Evidence Device ) and one True Imager Tool for imparting practical training on hard disk and pen drive, acquisition, imaging and analyzing case data.
With the help of these equipments investigating officers are being helped in the investigation of cyber related cases.
